[scene opens with two identically-dressed female librarians (hair in a bun, thick black glasses, white blouse, black skirt, high heels, nylon stockings) sitting in the podded engine underneath an airplane's wing and speaking directly to the camera]
HAYLEY AND LORRAINE: Hi, Canada!
LORRAINE JOHNSTON: We're the Lipstick Librarians!
HAYLEY CARRO: And we're ready to race!
[cut to inside of the airplane, as the two librarian are sitting in the cockpit and looking over a map, when one turns and speaks directly to the camera]
HAYLEY CARRO: Oh hi, didn't see you there. My name's Hayley.
LORRAINE JOHNSTON: And my name's Lorraine, and we're technical librarians for a Canadian airline.
[cut to the blonde librarian sitting in another part of the airplane]
HAYLEY CARRO: We're so excited to explore the Great White North on Amazing Race Canada!
[she reaches over and speaks into the intercom]
HAYLEY CARRO: Isn't that right, Lorraine?
[cut to the brunette librarian speaking in her intercom]
LORRAINE JOHNSTON: Roger that, ready for takeoff!
[cut to black and white footage of the two women (out of "uniform") speaking directly to the camera]
LORRAINE JOHNSTON: We are Ontario natives from the greater Toronto area.
[they both laugh]
LORRAINE JOHNSTON: We've been working together for the last four months, based out of Pearson Airport.
HAYLEY CARRO: Our job takes us out to the runway, where we have restricted access to drive inside and update manuals and documents used by the flight crew.
LORRAINE JOHNSTON: When we're in the office, we enjoy playing celebrity trivia games that we have created.
[she laughs]
LORRAINE JOHNSTON: One is "Name that Co-Star Hookup!"
["Hayley" appears on screen, then cut to black and white footage of Hayley alone speaking directly to the camera]
HAYLEY CARRO: Hi, my name is Hayley Carro, I'm twenty four years old from Newmarket, Ontario. I'm new to the aviation field, I just started a few months ago, but I've gotten to meet a lot of great people along the way.
[cut to various still photos of Hayley, then back to black and white footage of her speaking directly to the camera]
HAYLEY CARRO: I have a really close-knit family, I'm the youngest of three, an older brother and sister.
[cut to more still photos of Hayley and her family, then back to black and white footage of her speaking directly to the camera]
HAYLEY CARRO: In my spare time, my passion is to play guitar and sing in local venues around Newmarket.
[cut to a still photo of Hayley playing guitar, then "Lorraine" appears on screen and cut to black and white footage of Lorraine alone speaking directly to the camera]
LORRAINE JOHNSTON: Hi, my name's Lorraine Johnston, and I'm twenty eight years old from Brampton, Ontario.

LORRAINE JOHNSTON: I've been working in aviation for the last five years. Uh, before that, I was travelling the world, living in countries like the UK and Australia and New Zealand.
[cut to more still photos of Lorraine, then back to black and white footage of her speaking directly to the camera]
LORRAINE JOHNSTON: I enjoy travelling, and want to see more of my own country. Also, I've been recently engaged to my fiance, who's also a pilot, so travelling's in my blood.
[cut to a still photo of Lorraine and her fiance, then "Negatives" appear on screen, then cut to the two (back in their "librarian" outfits and pink t-shirts that say "Lipstick Librarians") standing on each side of a compact movable bookshelf]
HAYLEY CARRO: Lorraine may be the boss at work, but on the race, I'm taking the lead!
[Lorraine pretends to give her a dirty look, then cut to Lorraine (by herself) standing next to a photocopy machine]
LORRAINE JOHNSTON: She may not know it yet, but all the grocery challenges ... those are Hayley's job!
[cut to a bulletin board covered in papers that read "Lipstick Librarians", when Lorraine pops her head up from off screen]
LORRAINE JOHNSTON: We can't drive stick!
[she ducks back down off camera, then Hayley pops her head up]
HAYLEY CARRO: Or speak French!
[she ducks back down, then they both stand up]
HAYLEY AND LORRAINE: Oh bien!
[they shrug, as "Oh well!" appears on screen]
["Positives" appears on screen, then cut to the two standing in front of the bulletin board]
LORRAINE JOHNSTON: Our team is obsessed with Stefon from Saturday Night Live!
HAYLEY CARRO: Our team has everything! Knowledgable ...
LORRAINE JOHNSTON: Teamwork ...
HAYLEY CARRO: Zombie survival skills ...
LORRAINE JOHNSTON: Adventurous ...
HAYLEY CARRO: A love of audiobooks ...
LORRAINE JOHNSTON: We're tea drinkers!
HAYLEY CARRO: Organized!
LORRAINE JOHNSTON: And resourceful!
[cut back to the compact movable bookshelf, as the two are re-shelving binders]
HAYLEY CARRO: I can't wait to be on the Amazing Race! I've always wanted to see the Northern Lights!
LORRAINE JOHNSTON: Oh, I've always wanted to ride a dogsled!
HAYLEY CARRO: I've always wanted to see a polar bear!
LORRAINE JOHNSTON: Oh, well ... I've always wanted to kiss an RCMP officer!
[they both cover their mouths and make "shocked" faces, then cut to the two inside an airplane hangar as they walk towards the camera and high-five each other]

TORONTO (Dec. 20, 2012) – On your mark, get set, go online! Since the announcement that CTV has ordered 'The Amazing Race Canada,' Canadians have exploded with excitement to compete, with hundreds of thousands of posts on Twitter and Facebook, and more than 16,000 followers of @AmazingRaceCDA.

Now, the wait is over as CTV announced today casting details for 'The Amazing Race Canada.' Beginning today, viewers across the country can go online to www.CTV.ca/TheAmazingRaceCanada and submit an audition video and application for their chance to be a part of this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Potential teams are encouraged to submit videos that showcase their personalities and explain their motivation for why they deserve to win the inaugural season of 'The Amazing Race Canada.'

"Thank you Canada for such an overwhelmingly positive response to the announcement about 'The Amazing Race Canada'," said Phil King, President, CTV Programming and Sports. "We know Canadians have been chomping at the bit to put their names in for this series and we look forward to the onslaught of online submissions from an amazing group of diverse and fascinating potential racers."

'The Amazing Race Canada' is looking for dynamic and enthusiastic teams of two who are articulate, competitive, interesting, outgoing, and adventurous, who possess a strong personal connection. Teams must be willing to exert themselves in the process of detours, roadblocks, and other challenges as they race around the country, and endure approximately 28 days in various conditions, environments, and climates within Canada.

Auditioning for 'The Amazing Race Canada' is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Step 1
Prepare a video for submission that focuses on the positives and negatives of the relationship between you and your teammate. The producers are eager to hear what makes a "pairing" tick.

Step 2
Take an up-close picture of your "team", as well as an up-close picture of each individual, so you can send it in when you apply online.

Step 3
Completely fill out the online application and upload your video and photos at www.CTV.ca/TheAmazingRaceCanada

Among the eligibility requirements that should be noted for applications for "The Race":
* Competitors must be at least 19 years of age by April 1st, 2013.
* Competitors must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.

Set to anchor CTV's Summer 2013 schedule, 'The Amazing Race Canada' gives Canadians the opportunity to race around Canada and discover the country they love in a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. With potential stops in all 10 provinces and three territories, teams will race to the finish line, criss-crossing up to 9,000 kilometres. A stunning depiction of the Canadian fabric, the teams will travel through both the country's urban centres as well as the most remote outposts in the land, all while exploring its broad cultural and ethnic diversity, wildlife, and iconic landmarks.

'The Amazing Race Canada' is based on 'The Amazing Race,' the nine-time, Emmy® award-winning, hit program created by Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri that premiered in 2001 in the United States. Van Munster, Doganieri, and Mark Vertullo are executive producers for Worldrace Productions, a division of Profiles Television. Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman are executive producers for Jerry Bruckheimer Television. The program is produced in association with ABC Studios. The U.S. version of 'The Amazing Race' is a Top 3 series this fall on CTV and is this season's #1 reality program in Canada with an average audience of 2.7 million viewers.
